I've always felt a little awkward writing about myself, so I'm going to keep this fairly brief and simply concentrate on how I came to be where I am today - a budding costume designer greatly interested in anything and everything Steampunk.
I'm currently a History student at a university in Scotland, so although I spend a lot of time there, my English parentage keeps me in a constant state of oscillation between the two countries. I've always enjoyed History, but I recently realised that my true passion lies in something far more artistic and creative - costume design. It's been a decidedly slow road to this realisation, but now it's finally happened, I couldn't be happier. For the first time, I have a career goal, a direction, a plan. Just knowing what I want to do with my life is a wonderful feeling; though not nearly as wonderful as knowing who I want to spend it with.
My lovely boyfriend, Daniel, is responsible for this new found purpose in my life. He has been a constant source of encouragement and has helped me to realise that I can actually pursue costume design as a career; for this I thank him from the bottom of my heart, which belongs utterly to him. Although it may seem a little strange to say it, and although it clearly marks us as geeks, it is safe to say that Steampunk brought us together - and for that, I thank Steampunk.
So there it is, how I got here and where I hope to go. And with whom.
Now, let's get back to the Steampunk stuff...
